Saturday June 16, 2012
6 pm - 9 pm
Museum Courtyard, Getty Center

With a voice that belies his young age, Allen Stone's music integrates classic soul, catchy pop hooks, R & B beats and folk roots with lyrical matters of broken relationships, poisonous politics, and the age-old topic of simple, pure celebration.

Film Series: Dante's Inferno: L'Inferno (1911)
Saturday June 23, 2012
3 pm
Harold M. Williams Auditorium, Getty Center

In conjunction with the exhibition Heaven, Hell, and Dying Well: Images of Death in the Middle Ages, this series focuses on three interpretations of Dante Alighieri's Inferno. Since the fifteenth century, illustrators, painters, and (finally) filmmakers have envisioned the "nine circles of hell." The weekend includes the cinematically momentous interpretation of L'Inferno, the gritty social(ist) commentary of the 1924 Dante's Inferno and the live-action puppetry and postmodern renderings of the recent Dante's Inferno.
